Snapchat launches TikTok-like feature ‘Spotlight’

Snapchat launches TikTok-like feature ‘Spotlight’, That would allow users to publicly share short-form videos in their Snapchat app, adding a service that would compete with TikTok and Instagram Reels, owned by ByteDance.

The company said it would give users whose snaps make it to the top of the app about $1 million every day for the rest of 2020, in an attempt to improve interaction with the feature.

You can also make money from these short videos, and Snap stated in the blog that the Snaps you submit to Spotlight must follow our guidelines and terms of content for the opportunity to earn money, and users must be 16 or older to earn.

Instagram Reels, the company’s version of TikTok where users can capture short mobile-friendly videos, then add special effects and soundtracks pulled from a music library, was released by Facebook Inc earlier this year.
