Finally, in India, Samsung has launched the Odyssey G9 and G7 gaming monitors. Earlier this year at CES2020, Samsung unveiled the Odyssey lineup of curved QLED gaming monitors. It later launched the Odyssey G7 and G9 monitors internationally, including South Korea. The sale will start on December 31, and the monitors can be purchased via the Samsung India website by customers in India.
The Odyssey G9 comes with a 49-inch screen, with 27- and 32-inch options available for the G7. They are the first 1000R gaming monitors in the world which means that they have a 1,000 millimeter curvature radius that fits the human eye curve for full immersion and minimal eye strain. The Samsung gaming monitors both feature a VA screen with slim bezels and a refresh rate of 240Hz. Additionally, to improve the gaming experience, the Odyssey G9 and Odyssey G7 have a response time of 1ms (GtG).
On the other hand, the G7 models have an HDR600 VA screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels in QHD. This panel has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a peak luminosity of 600cd/m2, unlike the G9. The G7 only has Dark Gray accents and an internal SMPS adaptor comes with it. With a glossy white exterior and sleek ‘infinity core’ lighting at the rear, the G9 has a striking new look, including 52 colours and five lighting effect options.
Although we do not have a specific price for the displays, Samsung says the price ranges from Rs 49,000($663.52) to Rs 1,99,000($2694.71). That said on other e-commerce sites such as Flipkart, Amazon, Samsung does not provide any information on whether the Monitors will be available. More details are expected soon from the company.
